Summary
The mill has existed for over 350 years (the exact date of construction is not known). Paper production can be traced to 1776. In 1945 The Daily Express purchased the mill to produce flong (papier-mache for the newspaper industry). By the 1950's flong production supplied the majority of the industry except for The Telegraph. Production became uneconomical the mill was bought and converted to paper salvage.
