'They were espied by the TARTAR lugger, which brought up in a fathom and a half of water, and four of a crew of 10 men ventured to rescue them, if possible, in the four-oared boat. They proceeded to the vessel, and after great difficulty succeeded, one at a time, in saving six, a poor boy perishing while saving the others.' Wind SSE 6, heavy seas.
