Full Description
Post-Roman - medieval agricultural features and soils were excavated in 2001 at 18 New Street, Canterbury. The agricultural features comprised a short linear feature and a subcircular feature, which were both associated with a layer of probable post-Roman agricultural soils.
Earlier activity at the site comprised 1st-2nd century stake holes and a post hole, alongside late Iron Age-Roman pottery (TR 15 NW 2631). Post-medieval activity at the site comprised deposits and features associated with the construction and demolition of domestic properties from the 1840s onwards. (1)
