Full Description

`The ESPERANCE, Thompson; the FLOWER OF EDINBRO', Mason; the WELCOME FRIEND, Walker; all belonging to Lynn, and from Swansea to London; and the ALERT...were chaced [sic] on shore in St. Margaret's Bay, near Dover, on Monday evening, by five French privateers, and it is feared they will be lost.' (1)

`The FLOWER OF EDINBRO'...which was driven on shore...has been got off ...The ESPERANCE, and the WELCOME FRIENDS, which were driven on shore at the same time, are totally wrecked.' (2)
