Full Description
A layer of medieval-post-medieval ploughsoil was excavated at 47 London Road, Canterbury during a watching brief in 2013. The deposit was 0.14m thick and contained pottery ranging in date between the nmid-late medieval period to the 19th century. The medieval pottery comprised mid-late
sandy Tyler Hill ware, whilst post-medieval pottery comprised a German stoneware Bellarmine ware, and "a late eighteenth-century Woolwich redware with reddish-brown iron oxide speckled internal glaze" (from the original report, 1).
