Full Description

`The ELIZA AND MARY, Harris, from Shields to Arundel, struck and went to pieces at the back of the East Head, in endeavouring to enter Ramsgate on Friday. One boy drowned.' (1)

Wind conditions at Deal on the 17th `SSW, blowing hard'. (1)

`[As above, then continues]...the master and remainder of the crew are saved; one of the seamen with his leg broken.' (2)
