Full Description

`It is feared that the OAKS, Alderson, from London to St Vincent, was totally lost near Margate on Wednesday night and all on board drowned.' (1)

[NB: The OAKES, Alderson, appears in the departure list from Gravesend for St. Vincent on the 6th. (3)]

`The OAKES, Alderson, from London to St. Vincent, was totally wrecked on Wednesday night in the Queen's Channel, and it is feared all on board drowned.' (4)

Source (2) follows source (1) in spelling the name of the vessel as OAKS.
