Full Description
[TQ 63925695] Chapel [NR] (Site of) (1) At a place called Comp are the ruins of an ancient building, supposed to have been a chapel-of-ease to the church of Leybourne. (2) A chapel for the hamlets of Great and Little Compe. (3) ..... long since demolished. (4) The site lies in the corner of a field, at present freshly ploughed and giving no indication of the former existence of a chapel here, in the way of rubble or stone fragments: the farmer has never struck foundations when ploughing.
