Summary
MERCHANT VESSEL, 1782 wreck of Dutch cargo vessel which stranded near Sandown Castle en route from Genoa for Ostend, in company with a snow from Ostend for Bordeaux (1539268) and similar ship on the North Sand Head (1179716). One of these vessels was recovered: it is not quite clear which. Constructed of wood, she was a sailing vessel.
