Full Description
A Second World War air raid shelter was identified at 143 Chatham Road during an archaeological watching brief at the site. The shelter measured 2.1x1.4x2.2m and was constructed using precast concrete panels for the sides and roof of the structure, with a concrete floor. The shelter had an escape hatch to the east side and an entrance via a flight of steps to the west side. (1)
