Full Description
`By advices from Margate in Kent, we are informed that 5 or 6 ships lately drove on the sands at that place but are got off again and got into Ramsgate harbour to be repaired; the sixth is entirely broke to pieces and the cargo lost and 5 persons on board perished.' (1)
`On the 7th and 8th inst., THREE SISTERS, Birch from Lynn to Bristol, and LIBERTY, from Wells to Dublin, that were on shore at Margate, are got off with very little damage; the CECELIA, Norton, from Yarmouth to Dublin is lost; the GOOD INTENT, Howard and MAYFLOWER, Eyre, from ditto to ditto, are likewise got off...' [N.B. this list contains five vessels.] (2)
