Full Description
Under `Wrotham' [included with account of Jutish cemetery at White Fields - TQ 65 NW 27] At Bradford Platt other skeletons of the same period were found. An iron spearhead, a bronze ring with two beads strung upon it and a bronze buckle were secured. (1) It has not been possible to locate the position of the finds at Bradford Platt [for plotting on distn. map] (2) No further information regarding these burials could be obtained locally or at Maidstone Museum. (3) Area TQ 615598. Inhumation burials at Bradford Platt. The site has not been definitely identified. In the British museum are a gold pendant, and inlaid circular brooch, and ear-ring, iron spearheads, a knife and a fossil ammonite from an Anglo Saxon grave on the chalk plateau north of Wrotham, purchased 1927. They could be from this site. (4) A gilded silver garnet inlaid circular brooch in the British Museum, accession no 1927 5.12 2, is listed as being from Wrotham and may be from this site. (5-6)
