Full Description

`Ramsgate, Dec. 29th. The DUKE OF CAMBRIDGE, Stewart, from Bordeaux to Hambro', was forced from her anchor at Cuxhaven by the violence of the ice and wind, and in attempting to get into the harbour this forenoon, ran ashore on the Four Foot Head, where she bilged and will be totally lost. The whole of the crew have been saved, with great risk and danger, by a boat's crew belonging to this place.

`Deal, Dec. 30th. Part of the cargo of the DUKE OF CAMBRIDGE, Stewart, from Bordeaux for Hambro', wrecked near Ramsgate yesterday, consisting of wine, brandy, tobacco, turpentine, prunes etc. washed on shore last night near Sandwich Haven, and from thence conveyed to this place, and some to sandwich, whre it is deposited in safety.'
