Full Description
A deposit thought to relate to a medieval wall was excavated at Canterbury Police Station during a watching brief in 2021-2022. A segment of clay and chalk wall or a deposit was identified at the base of one of the trenches.
Medieval artefacts were also excavated at the site. Artefacts from potential medieval layers at the site include animal remains, brick, tile, and pottery fragments, and marine shell fragments. Some of these artefacts have been broadly dated between the medieval-post-medieval periods. (1)
