Full Description
The Palace Theatre opened as a live venue in 1931. In 1935 it was taken over by the Union cinema circuit who inturn were taken ovebr by ABC in 1937. In 1941 it reverted back to live repertory work with films on Sundays. After its closure in 1951 it was leased out for live theatre use before being taken back the following year. It reopened as a cinema in 1955 but eventually closed in 1957 before being demolished circa 1960 to make way for a retail development. (1)
