During evaluation trenching on a site of Foxborough Lane in Thanet, a narrow east-west aligned linear feature was identified cutting the geology at a depth of 0.94m BGL in trench 1. This measured 0.63m in width and was 0.25m deep with moderate sloped sides and a narrow, rounded base. Two fills were recorded with chalk fleck inclusions and rare burnt flint. One struck flint flake was recovered from the upper fill. A second and sub-rectangular possibly prehistoric feature was also identified in this trench with a fill that included of oyster and mussell shell. The evaluation trench was targeting Geophysical anomolies but the features uncovered did not relate to these anomolies. (1)
