Full Description

(1) Two trenches from the evaluation showed evidence for Medieval occupation occurring on the site. The evidence was obtained from trenches 14 and 16.

Trench 14 - Large pit measuring 3.6m in diameter and 0.3m in depth, containing finds dating to the High Medieval period as well as shell fragments (oyster and cockle) and animal bone - indicating the potential use as a refuse pit.
Trench 16 - Pit measured 1.2m in diameter and 0.1m in depth, contained finds dating to the late Medieval period.
