Full Description
The site of a former 19th - 20th century sheep fold and sheep wash recorded on historic OS maps at TQ 8082 7798. The map sources depict a single small building within a fenced off area adjacent to a track running along the southern edge or St Mary's Marshes. The first edition map of 1879 records the site as sheepfold, whilst the subsequent 2nd edition (1896) and 3rd edition (1908) OS maps show the site recorded as a sheepwash.
This site was noted during the course of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. (1-3)
