Full Description

The site of a former ironworks established in 1835 and closed in 1963. The ironworks was known as Biggleston/Drury and Biggleston Foundry, and supplied material including iron girders for railway construction. Two large furnaces were present at the site.
Buildings associated with the foundry and forge include a machine chop, a garage, alongside pattern and metasl stores. (1)
