Full Description
The slight earthwork remains of three fields of medieval or post medieval ridge and furrow centred as a group at TQ 8296 7637 immediately to the north of the village of Lower Stoke. The slight earthwork remains of a part of a fragmented coaxial field system (NMR Monument No.1536906) of uncertain date were also seen. The central field of ridge and furrow appears to be bounded on three sides by embanked boundaries of the field system. This was mapped from Environment Agency lidar imagery taken in 2001 as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(1)
