Monument record TQ 87 SW 1193 - Earthworks of a post medieval sea wall, Damhead Creek

Summary

The earthworks of a post medieval sea wall can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1947. This 190m long earthwork was situated on the northern side of, and roughly at right angles to, Damhead Creek. It has since been levelled. This site was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.
