Full Description
The site of a former 19th - 20th century sheep fold known as Buck's Pounds which was recorded on historic Ordnance Survey maps (1st epoch (1879) - 4th epoch (1938) ). The pound was located at TQ 8700 7758 in Grain Marshes where two small creeks meet. The pound comprised a building with a fenced off enclosure. Photographs taken in 1946 show the foundations of three possible buildings and the attached compound could be seen.This was site was recorded during the course of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(1-5)
