Summary
The site of a former 19th - 20th century sheep wash recorded as Westfield Pounds on historic Ordnance Survey maps (1st epoch (1879) - 4th epoch (1938) ). The pound was located in the Grain Marshes where two small creeks meet. The pound comprised a building with several fenced-off enclosures. This was site was recorded during the course of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.
