Full Description
The slight earthwork remains of several medieval or post medieval field boundaries forming two field enclosures seen at TQ 7146 7436 within a reclaimed area of Higham Marsh. This area is defined by the former medieval/post medieval counter wall to the north of Church Street. The western side of both fields is defined by the counter wall (NMR Monument : 1543511).
The southern of the two fields appears to have an entrance to the south defined by ditches and a bank, leading to a broad hollow way extending NNW out of Church Street into Higham Common.
These boundaries were mapped from Environment Agency lidar imagery as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. (1)
