Monument record TQ 77 SW 1139 - Possible plough-levelled Bronze Age round barrow located on the south-western side of Dusty Hill

Summary

The cropmark remains of a large spread of chalk 50m in diameter, possibly a plough-levelled Bronze Age round barrow located on the south-western side of Dusty Hill. This site is one of four such spreads of chalk extending WSW in a line from Dusty Hill. Two have traces of an external ring ditches, whilst this and one other are visible only as sub-circular chalk spreads. Each possible barrow has been recorded separately. All have been mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.
