Monument record TQ 77 SE 1394 - The fragmented cropmark of a mid-twentieth century tramway
Summary
The fragmented cropmark of a mid-twentieth century tramway can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1947 and 2011. This tramway, which was in place by 1933, linked the brick works at Hoo St. Werburgh (NMR 1545288) with a clay pit on the south side of the village (NMR 1545426). The tramway had be removed by 1942. This was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.
