" A hard Gale of Wind came on from the SSE which continued until near 12. In the height of the Gale the ADAM.... when attempting to bring up, the chain cable carried away the windlass, and the rope cable of the second anchor being cut by the chain, and the Crew being unable to clear the latter, she drove on this Beach and has bilged.
