`Ramsgate 16th Sept...The QUEEN CHARLOTTE, Godfrey, from Newcastle to Jersey, sunk on the Goodwind [sic] Sand last night. Crew and materials saved.' (1)

`Ramsgate, Sept. 16. The QUEEN CHARLOTTE, Godfrey, from Newcastle for Jersey, ran on the Goodwin last night, and is a complete wreck. Master and crew landed here; part of the materials saved by Ramsgate and Deal boats.' (3)
NB: Source (2) states the date of loss as 19-SEP-1826, the publication date of the reporting issue of LL. Additionally the cargo is expressed as coal - certainly the chief export from Newcastle, but not explicitly given as such in the original sources (1) and (3).
