Monument record TQ 77 SW 1149 - Possible post medieval hollow way seen on aerial photographs taken in 1977
Summary
The cropmark of a possible post medieval hollow way can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1977. The main cropmark is 180m long and is aligned approximately east -west between TQ 7196 7116 and TQ 7214 7113. This is on the same alignment as an existing track to the south-east and if continued to the north-west would reach the foot of Telegraph Hill. A 60m long cropmark of a second possible hollow way is also visible running parallel to the north-east, centred on TQ 7217 7117. These were mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.
