Summary
The fragmented cropmark traces of curvilinear and rectilinear ditch-defined features thought to be the remains of First or Second World War buildings and structures located in a playing field immediately to the west of Grain Fort. In the centre of the the site is a circular ditch (7m in diameter) with a central pit which could be the remains of a searchlight emplacement. These features were mapped from aerial photographs taken English Heritage in August 2011 as of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. The site of a WW1/WW2 camp recorded from 1942 RAF photographs lies immediately to the north of these features (NMR Amie Monument Number: 1541951).
