Summary
The slight earthworks of this probable post medieval chalk pit can be seen on lidar taken in 2007. These shallow remains are now incorporated in to an arable field north-east of Springdale Cottages and is centred on TQ 7350 7162. It is depicted on the 1867 Ordnance Survey map and has been mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.
