Monument record TQ 77 SW 202 - Earthwork remains of a post medieval field boundary, The Mount
Summary
The slight earthwork remains of a post medieval field boundary can be seen on lidar taken in 2007. This bank is situated on The Mount at Higham. The main earthwork is aligned east-west and most of its length is followed by a path which was in 1896 also the boundary of an orchard. The eastern continuation of this earthwork and a short northern extension possibly represent an earlier arrangement that was not depicted by the Ordnance Survey. This was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.
