Full Description
The slight earthwork remains of a post medieval field boundary can be seen on lidar taken in 2007. This bank is situated on The Mount at Higham and is centred on TQ 7117 7181. The main earthwork is aligned east-west and most of its length is followed by a path which was in 1896 also the boundary of an orchard. The eastern continuation of this earthwork and a short northern extension possibly represent an earlier arrangement that was not depicted by the Ordnance Survey. This was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.(1-2)
