Summary
The earthwork remains of a post medieval causeway on Stoke Saltings can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 2007. This 90m long earthwork is situated at TQ 8466 7475 and which, according to 1887 Ordnance Survey map, was originally part of a causeway 725m long. This earthwork connected a longer causeway across the saltings (NMR 1540799) immediately to the south of an enclosure (NMR 1538299). This earthwork was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.
