Summary
The brewery was operated by William Plane and John Heathron and was sold to Edward Russell in 1858. John Russell inherited the brewery in 1859 and it became Russell's Gravesend Brewery Ltd in 1893. Throughout the 1890s until 1911 the business acquired a number of local breweries. Truman, Hanbury, Buxton and Company Limited acquired the brewery in 1930, brewing ceased and the site used as a bottling plant and offices. The site closed in 1987 and by 1989 the maltings and proprietors house had been converted into apartments.
