Summary

The earthworks of a post medieval causeway on Hoo Salt Marsh can be seen on aerial photographs taken in 1947. This causeway (since levelled) was situated to the west of and provided access to the circular enclosure on Hoo Island and follows a path on the 1862 Ordnance Survey map. It was mapped from aerial photographs as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project.
