Summary

A Second World War bomb crater, first visible as earthworks on aerial photographs taken in May 1944, has been mapped as part of the English Heritage: Hoo Peninsula Landscape Project. The feature appears as a clear crater surrounded by an area of up cast earth with dimensions of about 50m by 38m. It is located on the lower ground below and to the west of Deangate Ridge. This is the southernmost of four evenly spaced bomb craters running up the end of the ridge to the Chattenden Magazines and Lodge Hill Camp.
