Full Description
Lost whilst attending a wrecked vessel in the Downs. It is reported that : `...through their unskilfulness, the boat was overset amongst the breakers and about twenty men and women were washing about in the sea.' The Report says the Mate of the Vessel lost was drowned being caught up in the rigging, but whether this was the Mate of this vessel or the original vessel in trouble is unclear. Those in the water were picked up by the Deal Boat.
