Site of a Second World War light anti aircraft (Diver) battery at Newington. This was armed with 40mm guns, and was manned by B/2818 RAF Regiment when it was deployed on 2nd August 1944. It was redeployed to TR153370 on 26th August 1944.It formed part of the 71 Light Anti Aircraft Artillery Brigade deployment. The National Record for the Historic Environment also places battery Dl8 at this point.

Full Description

Site of a Second World War light anti aircraft (Diver) battery at Newington. This was armed with 40mm guns, and was manned by B/2818 RAF Regiment when it was deployed on 2nd August 1944. It was redeployed to TR153370 on 26th August 1944.It formed part of the 71 Light Anti Aircraft Artillery Brigade deployment.

The National Record for the Historic Environment also places battery Dl8 at this point. This was the site of a Second World War light anti aircraft (Diver) battery south of Arpinge. This was armed with 40mm guns, and was manned by B/2882 RAF Regiment when it was deployed on 2nd August 1944. It was redeployed to TR162362 on 26th August 1944. It formed part of the 71 Light Anti Aircraft Artillery Brigade deployment.
