Full Description

A post-medieval field boundary and poorly defined amorphous features were identified during an evaluation in 2007 at King Edward Court, Herne Bay.
Features at the site included a pit-like depression which measured over 2m in size, alongside five shallow amorphous features, one of which reached a recorded depth of 0.07m.
The probable field boundary comprised an E-W aligned linear feature measuring 6m in length and 1.05m in width. The fill of this feature contained a sherd of post-medieval brown-glazed pottery, suggesting that the feature may date from the 17th century.

The report includes one sentence referring to six archaeological features including two linear features, three post-holes and a sub-oval pit at the site. However, these are not mentioned throughout the rest of the report and are not visible on the trench plans/sections, therefore it is unclear if this information was included in error. (1)
