Monument record TR 34 SW 2886 - Dover Hebrew Cemetery

Summary

A Jewish cemetery was opened on the south eastern side of Old Charlton Road in 1868. The cemetery is rectangular in plan, approximately 70m long and 30m wide with a flint and brick boundary wall. The cemetery contains a few rows of Matzevah monuments grouped close to the southern end. Set into the inside of the boundary wall are the plaques and foundation stones of the demolished synagogue in Northampton Street. An Ohel was known here but is believed to have burnt down.
