Monument record TQ 94 NE 297 - Newcourt Wood Crematorium

Summary

Newcourt Wood Crematorium was built in 1936 for a private company, of which two of the seven directors were members of the Cremation Society, it is now run by the Kent County Crematorium Company plc. The buildings were designed by John L Seaton Dahl and built by W W Martin. A Romanesque style building, built of brick with stone dressings and a pantile roof. The crematorium is surounded by woodland with walks, flowerbeds, a lily pond and a aviary.
