A post-medieval quarry was identified cutting the natural geology on land at 34-36 St Peter's Road, Broadstairs during an archaeological evaluation in 2017. Location accurate to the nearest 1m based on available information.

The visible extent of the quarry feature was 3.75m long by 0.78m deep, however, the feature extended beyond the limits of the excavation, and the base was not located, during the excavations. The feature contained two fills. The lower fill was formed of a clay silt and contained rare post-medieval ceramic building material alongside clay pipe stems. The upper fill was also formed of clay silt which contained natural inclusions of chalk and flints, alongside ceramic building material.

The presence of post-medieval clay pipe stems in the fill of the feature dated it to the post-medieval period. Other quarries dating from the post-medieval period are also known to have existed in areas around the site. (1)
