Full Description
`...the snow, LA JEUNE BOUISE, from Lette (sic) for Havre de Grace, Captain Francois Guenegu, laden with 187 casks of wine, quantity 84 tons, came on shore between Dymchurch and Romney, one cable having parted, and the anchor to the other cable driving; the people cut away both masts to save their lives. It is expected all the cargo will be saved, under the management of Messrs. Minet and Fector of Dover.' (1)
This vessel may perhaps be identifiable with the vessel described in LL. as follows:
`A sloop, name unknown, from Barcelona to Havre, is on shore near Dymchurch, the people saved.' (2)
The name of the vessel may be a corrupt transcription of LA JEUNE LOUISE.
Master: Francois Guenegu
