Full Description
"Between one and two o'clock yesterday morning the ROYAL CHARLOTTE, Capt. Crozier, late from the Straits, bound for Dublin, burden 400 tons, lying a little below Billingsgate, took fire, and was burnt to the waters edge. She was very richly laden, and her hold was filled with oil and cotton. Very little of the cargo was saved. Although the floating and several other engines attended, she continued burning in the hold at noon, and it was expected when the tide came up that she would sink.
