Full Description
The site of a second World War pillbox (TYPE FW3/24) in the Chislet Marshes visible was visible as a structure in RAF/106G/UK/1724 RS 4038 10-SEP-1946. This pillbox was located on the corner of an embankent to the south of a road block on the road - Thanet Way - forming part of a three-sided rectangle of defences around the southern side of the road made up of earthen gun emplacements. The feature was later noted as demolished on Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 07-APR-2021.This site was mapped as part of the Historic England Isle of Thanet project in 2024.(1-2)
