Full Description

Anglo-Saxon graves and ring ditches were excavated at Eagle Works, Dover Road, Barham during an evaluation in 2019. These features comprised "two Anglo-Saxon grave cuts with surrounding circular ditches with a postentrance to the east and to the NNE a stand-alone postulated grave cut" (from the original report, 1). The ring ditches measured around 1-1.24m in width, and 0.36-0.46m in depth. The grave cuts measured around 2.8m in length and 0.9-1.1m in width.
An undated post hole and a pit were also excavated at the site.

One grave produced evidence for human remains in the form of frontal and leg bone fragments. No finds were recovered from the site and the graves were thought to have been robbed in antiquity. (1)
