Full Description
The cropmark remains of a short length of Second World War crenelated trench seen aligne NE-SW on Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 14-APR-2015 and mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024.
This77m long section of trench formed one small part of the extensive defences constructed around the village of St Nicholas at Wade between 1940 and 1941 when it became a designated Defended Area protecting the crossing point inland from Isle of Thanet (1).
