Full Description
The cropmark remains of two short lengths of Second World War crenelated trench seen aligne NW-SE on Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 14-APR-2015 and mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024.
These two sections of trench are c.70m long in total and formed one small part of the extensive defences constructed around the village of St Nicholas at Wade between 1940 and 1941 when it became a designated Defended Area protecting the crossing point inland from Isle of Thanet (1).
