Full Description

The Dutch Barque F H LINDERN put in to Dover harbour, on Tuesday. She had lost 2 anchors and chains in the downs and with the help of a tug proceeded to Dungeness, but was afterwards towed back to Dover as it was low water and she was unable to get into the harbour and was proceeding to South Forland when she ran down the ketch COMMERCE of Newport, (Monmouthshire). The crew saved themselves by means of lines thrown to them from the barque, on being landed the crew were moved to the Dover National Sailors Home. Date of Loss: A (1)
