Full Description
The cropmark remains of a short length of two parallel Second World War zig-zag trenches seen aligned E-W on Next Perspectives APGB Imagery 21-APR-2007 and mapped as part of the Historic England Thanet Landscape Mapping Project 2024.
This 110m long section of trench lies to just to the south of a longer continuous ditch which formed one the extensive defences constructed around the village of St Nicholas at Wade between 1940 and 1941 when it became a designated Defended Area protecting the crossing point inland from Isle of Thanet (1).
